Well, it seems there’s a blogging meme going round - “5 things” Blog Tag. You’re supposed to post 5 things the world in general may not know about you, and then “tag” 5 others.

I was tagged by Scott Boyd, who was tagged by Aaron Shear, and I was tagged by Chris Winfield, who was tagged by Aaron Pratt and Kim Krause-Berg. The whole sorry mess mess (the SEO branch, at least) was started by Jeff Pulver, and you can track it at SoloSEO’s Blog Tag Tree.

Right, 5 things you (hopefully) didn’t know about me

1) My usual nick, TallTroll, is derived from the fact that I’m fairly tall (6′ 3″, 6′ 4″ something like that) and the company I worked for when I first signed up at Webmasterworld is called TheITbridge. What lives under bridges…? Trolls, that’s right. Clippity-clop, clippity-clop, over the rickety bridge…

Hence, TallTroll.

2) I studied Chemistry at University, without great success it has to be said. The training in scientific methodology has proved extremely useful though.

3) I used to hold a parascending Instructor rating.

4) I dislocated and broke my right shoulder in a fairly nasty car accident a couple of years ago. I now have a little scar, slightly restricted movement, and memories of 6 months of quite painful physiotherapy to remind me to BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!

Coming to upside down, in a rolled car, that’s come off an embankment, with my hand out the driver’s side window and trapped under the car may be the least fun way I’ve ever woken up.

5) One of the more fun ways I’ve ever woken up was when on holiday with my Uni mates in Newquay. Having got blasted at Berties, we all went home with a lovely lipstick lesbian who was pining for her girlfriend who was away for a few days, and I’d spent most of the night chatting to and consoling.

… right up to the point where I remembered we all went for a dip in the sea the night before, and I lost my glasses, necessitating a rather tedious trip into Torquay to replace them.

So, now I’ve got to try and find 5 people to tag… lots and lots of people have already been tagged (serves me right for waiting so long to post, I guess).
